Dream~~

Dream III

by Elizabeth Bishop

The sea [is a deceptive footing]

& we search its drunken, shifting sidewalks.

The air turning to salt-water on the way,

we descend some creaking stairs

drawn by music of marimbas

to a cellar-cabaret.

But when we get there it is silent.

Around us impetalled fish swim seriously;

It is not a cabaret at all.

It is an endless wax-works, dimly lit,

where rows of lonesome figures sit

whose fresher tears, naturally cannot fall.

Everyone owns his unique dreams. Someone comes ture but someone not.
About me? Which one will happened to me?

To A Daughter Leaving Home

To A Daughter Leaving Home
When I taught you
at eight to ride
a bicycle, loping along
beside you
as you wobbled away
on two round wheels,
my own mouth rounding
in surprise when you pulled
ahead down the curved
path of the park,
I kept waiting
for the thud
of your life, screaming
with laughter,
the hair flapping
behind you like a
handkerchief waving
goodbye.

Your Children Are Not Your Children

Your Children Are Not Your Children
Your children are not your children.
They are the sons and daughters of Life's longing for itself.
They come through you but not from you,
And though they are with you yet they belong not to you.
You may give them your love but not your thought,
For they have their own thoughts.
You may house their bodies but not their souls,
For their souls dwell in the house of tomorrow, which you cannot visit, not even in your dreams.
You may strive to be like them, but seek not make them like you.
For life goes not backward nor tarries with yesterday.
You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth.
The archer sees the mark upon the path of the infinite, and He bends you with His might that His arrows may go swift and far.
Let your bending in the archer's hand be for gladness;
For even as He loves the arrow that flies, so He loves also the bow that is stable.

Poem

Music I Heard
Music I heared with you was more than music,
And bread, I broke with you was more than bread;
Now that I am without you, all is desolate;
All that was once so beautiful is dead.
Your hands once touched this table and this silver,
And I have seen your fingers hold this glass.
These things do not remember you, beloved,
And yet your touch upon them will not pass.
For it was in my great you moved among them,
And blessed them with your hands and with your eyes;
And in my heart they will remember always,
They knew you once, O beautiful and wise.
I like this poem because the first and second sentences are so touched and so trued.
In the love world, it will be worth of doing eveything if you are with lover.
Even though you just share a bread, all you will consider that it is the sweetest time.
What do you think of the two sentences?

The weather has changed.

Recently,
the weather seems to be more and more hoter than before.
By the huge sun, everyone can feel that the shinny summer is closed.
When I am covered with the hot weather, it makes me remember the situation of the first time I entered Chang Gung University.

It was a boiling hot day just like now even if it was fall.
At that time, I almost knowed no one here so I was extremely afraid of the strange surroundings.
New place, new classmates, and new weather.
All of these were not familiar to me.
Fortunately, I met a lot of cute friends in the college.
I always needed their helps both schoolwork and daily life because I had few power to deel with so many trouble alone which happened to me.
I deeply appreciated their kindness and their cares.

Time flies. Now the weather changes hot, too.
That is to say, I have been a college student for a long time.
During this time, I consider that I grow up very much.
We can say that new enviroment makes a new life!

Exercise hurts

Today I understand that exercise hurts were truly terrible.
Why do I say this way?

I have joined a cheer squad for a long time.
Of couse, we have some difficult but attractive acrobatics.
Therefor, the exercise contains a number of danger.
One of my friends just injoured her leg on Saturday when her practiced a new action.
Although we had noticed many safety measures, her still got hurt.
New she walks with canes which makes her very unconvenient.
If the patient is me, I guess I would be terribly sad.
Because I love sports, I can not endure that I have to stay on the chair for a all day.
What a dull life it is!

Concequently, no matter what exercise we do, the safe is always the most important thing which on one can ignore it.
I like sports, but I like my bady more!

The journey in Jiu Fen.

I did not go home this weekend because the far distance would take too many time on the car which always made me tired.
Therefor I stayed in my dormitory vapidly.
Fortunately, there were still some classmates leaving hear.
Just like me, most of them did not want to take a weekend time just before the computer in the domitory.
Therefor, by a classmate's idea, we had a train journey on Saturday.
The destination of our journey was Jiu Fen a beautiful old city in Taipei.
After a series of traffic, we reached the ancient mine city.
We walked the little street with many touristics who came from different cities and countries.
In the street, I foud some arresting phenomena.
Firstly, the most of foreigners there were Japanese.
In addiction, what made me surprised was that not only the consumers but the clerks could speak Japanese.
Secand, the stores there were similar.
No matter what they selled both the food and goods, we still could find it in next stores.
Third, there were an amazing number of stairs in Jiu Fen.
Is is true that the stairs were almost small and clapped-out.
However, they added more ancient atmosphere in the city which had been a pretty prosperous town many decads ago due to gold minerals.

The journey was interesting and informative. And I miss the delicious food, too. I hope that I can go to Jiu Fen again with my firends.
